A sane letter to the City of Davis to stop the insanity

Making homeowners repair sidewalks creates more problems than it solves

My good friends Derrick and Gayna are longtime Davis residents who annually host our town’s best Christmas light display that causes massive traffic jams all over their beautiful South Davis neighborhood.

Not surprisingly, they were stunned to learn that the Davis City Council plans to transfer maintenance of Davis sidewalks from the City to individual homeowners.

As such, and perhaps hoping to pound some sense into the heads of our civic leaders, Derrick and Gayna fired off a strongly worded guided missive directed to all five City Council members.
