Precious... If he has any misgivings about leaving teendom, a simple change from base 10 to base 12 will solve the problem.

Wonderful Bob-I was smiling all the way through your column and the peanut butter discovery video. Happy Birthday Mick, and thank you Bob!

Bob Dunning's avatar

You're very kind, Shelley. Thank you.

Mick is a special, special kid

20, 21, 22, 23 - We have plenty of 20 in our family.

Yep, I’ll never forget seeing you about 19 1/2 years ago pushing a stroller, with you connected to all of them.

So frighinnn A D O R A B L E

May I have some bread with my peanut butter? 🤭

🎵Happy Birthday to you🎵🎉🎈💐

Bob Dunning's avatar

Yes, the bread was a bit irrelevant. I was waiting for him to actually eat the knife.

Myrna's avatar

Ha ha ha. Honestly I was thinking the same as I went to the kitchen right after watching his chef debut, making a peanut butter and honey on Sourdough slice. Never saw a knife look so yummy.

This is the BEST video. I love how no one intervened with helpful hints on making this sandwich and just let him explore this process for a full 15 minutes! Does he still like peanut butter now after consuming what appears to be half a jar on that day? 🤣

Bob Dunning's avatar

I'm figuring he must have consumed about 5,000 calories even before he ate the two sandwiches. I was waiting for him to plop one piece of bread on top of the other, but instead he neatly folded each piece of bread into its own sandwich, estimating the halfway point perfectly. Must have been born with a math gene. I think there might be an opportunity for a "Got Milk" commercial in there somewhere.

I agree with Marylee. How he ate from the jars, eating almost both sandwiches without some liquid, was beyond comprehension. I laughed until I shed tears. I still want to know what he was staring at so intensely while devouring his first-ever self-made PB&J sandwich. Have a Happy 20th Mick.

We think he saw Angels

MILK!!!! Where’s the glass of milk? My mouth is dry just watching. Congrats.

Bob Dunning's avatar

I think he was too distracted to even thing about milk

What a treasure of a video.

Bob Dunning's avatar

It happened by accident, Kari. No one else was even in the room.

Absolutely precious!!!!!!!!

Bob Dunning's avatar

Thanks, Joanne. That video is a family treasure, as is Mick.

I love it and can't help but assume that, over the years, your family has developed a rather extraordinary immune system. :-)

Bob Dunning's avatar

Yep, we're pretty much immune to everything, except getting the giggles.

In large families, the third kid throws predictability off-kilter. My father of five would fabricate laughter (because it is contagious) to get us through impossible situations. Those are the situations we reminisce as the best ones because of "Pavlov's" smiles.

Bob Dunning's avatar

Amen, Sherri. Laughter iis indeed the best medicinee.
