The Wary One

A word to the wise: you can vote only for “qualified” candidates

Yes, you can vote by mail, but it’s much more fun to do it in person

I recently received a notice from the Yolo County Elections folks advising me that my “official ballot” should have arrived by now in my humble East Davis mailbox.

Actually, it arrived a while ago, but I’ve been so busy setting the clocks ahead for Daylight Saving Time and hiding Easter eggs and honoring Mother’s Day and a few birthdays that I’m just now getting around to reading it.

“All active registered voters in California will receive a ballot by mail,” it notes.

Active voters?

I swam six laps in a crowded pool at Get Fit Davis this morning. Does that count as “active”?
