Aggie women dominate Sacramento State in season soccer opener

Goals by Coverdale, Tristan pace impressive win over archrival Hornets

It may not have been pitch perfect, but for a season opener the results were more than satisfying as UC Davis dominated Sacramento State, 2-0, in a non-conference women's soccer match Thursday evening on the Aggies' home field.

"I feel great," said sixth-year Aggie head coach Tracy Joyner.

"We found a way to win a rivalry game, but also the first game of the season, so there are a lot of things to be excited about. We need to clean up a couple of little things, but in general I'm feeling really good."
