Aggies arrive in Greeley to take on the vastly improved Bears
Northern Colorado has tripled its win total from the last two years combined
GREELEY, Colorado - Ed Lamb knows a struggling college football program can’t be rebuilt overnight, as much as he might wish it were so.
Still, the highly respected Northern Colorado head coach, now in his third year directing the once-lowly Bears, is finally seeing the fruits of his labor.
Northern Colorado brings a 3-4 overall record, including 1-2 in the rugged Big Sky Conference, into this afternoon’s league showdown against soaring UC Davis, now 5-1 overall, 3-0 in league and No. 6 in the latest FCS Coaches Poll.
Game time in 8,533-seat Nottingham Field on the UNC campus is 1 p.m. MDT, noon PDT in Davis.
The game will be televised live on ESPN+ and broadcast on Sactown Radio, 1140 AM, with Scott Marsh and Scott Gordon on the call.
“I won’t disagree that Davis is the toughest team we’ve faced so far,” said Lamb, who was 0-11 in 2023 and 1-11 in 2024, with the lone win in that two-year span coming over Big Sky rival Weber State.
