Aggies arrive in St. George to take on Utah Tech
Trailblazers have struggled during recent transition to FCS
ST. GEORGE, Utah - Utah Tech is an up and coming program that is finding the Football Championship Subdivision can be highly inhospitable to newcomers.
Its five-year record since joining the FCS is 10-41, not necessarily unusual for a team transitioning from Division II, but still discouraging for players, coaches and fans alike.
The worst of Tech's five FCS seasons came last year when the Trailblazers were 1-11, including a 32-14 loss at UC Davis, in Lance Anderson's first season as head coach.
The only other time UCD and Utah Tech met, also in Davis in 2021, the Aggies ran away with a 60-27 win.
The Aggies and Trailblazers will square off Saturday night in 10,400-seat Greater Zion Stadium.
