Aggies hit the ground running in Seattle, ready to take on the Dawgs
The biggest - and loudest - crowd in UC Davis history will pack historic Husky Stadium for 8 p.m kickoff
SEATTLE - "This is a chance to push ourselves to see if we can compete with teams at the highest level," said UC Davis head football coach Tim Plough as the Aggies prepare for tonight's battle with the University of Washington at 70,138-seat Husky Stadium, known as one of the toughest venues in the country for a visiting team.
The 105-year-old stadium borders Union Bay on Lake Washington, one of the most stunning scenes in all of college football. Washington's home win streak now sits at 21 games entering Saturday's contest.
A near-capacity crowd, the largest in UC Davis history, is expected for the game, with temperatures in the mid-60s at kickoff and a 50-percent chance of rain. It's Seattle, after all.
"It's a beautiful setting, the crowd noise will be a definite factor and it's a big challenge that our guys are looking forward to," Plough added. "We're really excited about this game."
Game time is 8 p.m., the Aggies' third straight night road game to open the season, this one against the first Big Ten opponent in UCD history.
