Thanks to big donors stepping up to buy out the lucrative salaries of vastly overpaid head coaches, the college football landscape is now littered with unemployed, yet very wealthy coaches.

James Franklin’s buyout after Penn State showed him the door is $50 million, chump change compared to the $75 million Jimbo Fisher received to not coach Texas A&M a few years ago.

Franklin says he doesn’t golf or fish, so he wants to coach again right away. Oregon State, Florida, Stanford, Virginia Tech or maybe even Davis High School.

Could Franklin turn the Blue Devils around?

Meanwhile, Indiana just signed red-hot head coach Curt Cignetti to an 8-year, $93 million contract after giving University of Indiana President Pamela Whitten a 28 percent raise to $900,000 a year.

And this is what they call “higher education?”

This week’s picks are as follows:

INDIANA over UCLA ... Coach Cignetti should bet his entire $93 million salary on this one.

MIAMI (Fla.) over STANFORD ... The Boys from the Farm learn what Hurricane season is all about.

OREGON over WISCONSIN ... The once mighty Badgers have been outscored 71-0 in the last two weeks and are likely to continue that woeful streak in Eugene, where it never rains in Autzen Stadium.
