I've been to Butchart at least five times, in all seasons. Once when it really raining and overcast, another when there was snow. Didn't matter. The grounds were still stunning beautiful. The power of a flower.
Great piece about a great place, Bob. We visited it twice and still don't know if we saw all that it had to offer. The Sunken Garden was our favorite at the time. A gentleman who used to be involved in the running of the Butchart Gardens had heard of Huei's Garden and dropped by a few years ago. She was pleased that he gave it a high grade among the many private gardens he had seen.
Thank you, Bob for all the beautiful pictures. I have been there several times, and it has played an important role in my life. When I came to the Davis area almost 50 years, we bought a house with almost no plants or trees. My goal was to copy Butchart Gardens. Needless to say, the climate in Davis is very different from Vancouver, so I haven't (yet) succeeded, but I am still trying!
Thanks for the wonderful photos, I cherish that I went there with Mike a couple years before he passed away, it was so beautiful, and a place to go out of one's way to visit. So good to remember, making memories to last forever...
Absolutely gorgeous gardens. Thank you for sharing the beauty with us while enjoying time with your lovely red-haired bride. Wishing you two, a life-time of love, happiness and treasured memories.
Thank you for the beautiful photos from a veritable Garden of Eden. However, I was deeply distressed upon observing the reckless setup of the chess board.

Amen, Phil.
I've heard it's spectacular at night and especially at Christmas.

They actually have a plant-friendly environment where almost everything except bananas can grow.

Dar and Craig -
Much appreciated. Your kind words mean a ton to us.

Must have been a 9.4 earthquake that knocked those pieces over.
Love that place. Hope to visit again soon.
