As a public service, I have been poring over the recently released City of Davis 2024 Water Quality Report, subtitled "Consumer Confidence Report."

Or maybe, since this report is all about water, I should say I've been "pouring" over it nearly every waking moment to be sure our water is safe for all of us to drink.

I've been drinking Davis water straight from the tap since we moved here on my fifth birthday and celebrated it in Central Park where we were camping because we did not yet have a place to live. Thus, my first exposure to Davis water was from a Central Park drinking fountain.

I do not remember my reaction, which means it was either not memorable or I have been able to block all childhood trauma from my brain.
