Recently, we were talking about the fact that UC Davis has been known as Quarterback U for a major part of its long football history.

For the most part, but with a few exceptions that prove the rule, Aggie quarterbacks have been known for their passing ability and rarely for the yards they gain with their feet.

But how does someone become a great quarterback if he doesn't have great receivers on the other end of the play?

C.J. Hutton

I know from playing backyard tackle football as a kid to intramural flag football at the University Farm, that being a receiver is easily the best position on the field. Nothing is more fun than catching a pass. Even though quarterbacks seem to be the ones making the big bucks these days, truth be told, I'd rather catch a touchdown pass than throw one.

Unfortunately, during my "playing" days, what I lacked in jumping ability I made up for by being painfully slow, so I can't honestly say I ever actually caught a touchdown pass.

Today, however, let's talk about that long line of UCD receivers, including the current crop of talented pass catchers, though I won't attempt to rename UC Davis as Receiver U.
