Kicking transgender soldiers out of the military without retirement benefits is simply cruel
Career military service members are being kicked to the curb as if they are common criminals

Dear Mr. President:
I am writing to express my concern over something I heard recently about your decision to kick transgender men and women out of the United States Air Force without providing them with the proper retirement benefits they have clearly earned through their exemplary service to our country.
Please tell me this is fake news.
I know you are a strong supporter of all branches of the United States Military, as am I, and would likely have been a Five-Star General by now had not those darn bone spurs started acting up just as the Vietnam War was getting ugly.
But thank you for having five children who, I presume, all served in the military with your urging, as did my son, my brother and my dad. My dad, in fact, a World War II combat veteran who achieved the rank of Major, is retired military who received excellent retirement benefits for his service. Those benefits were incredibly helpful to our large family when I was growing up, though the disability he suffered in combat remained with him until the day he died.
I'm not sure if your dad served in the military, but I presume he suffered from the same foot malady that he passed along to you. It's inspiring to all of us how you continue to win so many golf tournaments despite this obvious handicap.
But back to this transgender retirement issue.
