Thank you again for your coverage in your column of Natalie Corona’s legacy and the Davis community. As a retired officer, I spent the years of my career and since hearing only negative comments about law enfurecemos officers, except within the law enforcement community. This is not because most officers are bad- because most are more like Natalie than they are like the few among our ranks who are not. I believe the negative perceptions of law enforcement persist largely because many people enjoy gossip even if it is misinformation. Through Natalie Corona’s story, people have become more aware of the positive side of law enforcement. This does not in any way diminish the fact that she was an extraordinary young woman, and should be remembered. But thanks to you for your balanced reporting.
Thanks so much, Ilsa. People like you and Natalie stand out when I think about local law enforcement. An incredibly difficult job to do even if the best of times.
beautifully written. From Tragedy comes hope, from hope action and from action comes all good. this memorial area was awesome to c. Susana Shelton, one of our favorite friends and a great artist did it beautifully. she always takes time to know the families and make it personal to the honoree. well done, as always dear friends.
Hi Bob: Just wanted to thank you for the article on Natalie Corona’s celebration yesterday. It sounds and looks like everyone had a wonderful day. Your wife’s and your pictures were beautiful. I’m sorry I was unable to make it. I had previously signed up to attend a rally in Vacaville against our ignorant, corrupt president Donald Trump. By the way, where is Natalie’s corner located. I haven’t been able to find it, Take care. Philip Cooper
Thanks for the kind words. The photos were from Molly Dunning, who is my daughter. Natalie's Corner nudges up against B Street just south of the intersection between 5th and B.
Wow- amazing day and an amazing way to honor her. I was in Davis in late July and saw what they were constructing. Look forward to seeing it open when I return in September. Beautiful poem and photos💝
I think Andy’s poem should be bronzed and placed somewhere at the entrance to the water park. He so captured the essence of her sacrifice. Fifty years from now those words should continue to inspire those visit this lovely and happy memorial site.
This a beautiful reminder of her and the other beautiful people who make this community safe each day. Thanks, Bob for sharing this wonderful day and this heartwarming poem with us.
Yesterday was an amazing celebration of Officer Corona. “Natalie’s Corner” will remain a lasting and powerful tribute to her spirit, life, and legacy, in perpetuity. (If her song is to continue, we must do the singing…)
The Wary One, today…with the blended poetry and prose of Mr. Monheit, and yourself, delivers a well-curated remembrance of poignant perfection 🙏🏼
Nicely done hosting duties, yesterday, my friend (and kudos to your “photo staff” for capturing those sweet moments in time—so symbolic of Natalie’s spirit).
As usual Bob showing a great talent to describe events heartfully and thanks to Mr Monheit for his words filled with Humanity.
Thanks, Andre.
Mr. Monheit is a talent in this town.
I want to see more.
Kudos to you, Bob, for knowing what to write and knowing when to amplify another writer. This is what community looks like.
So well said, Austin.
Thank you.
Thanks, Bob and Andy, for using Natalie’s story to so beautifully shed beacons of hope when events often create a sense of hopelessness.
So well said, Jerry.
Thank you.

Susan Shelton is Davis treasure.
Her work on Natalie's Corner is nothing short of spectacular.

It's really beautiful and the kids - and some of their parents - were having a ball.
What a great day for our blessed town.
