Deadly free throw shooting keys 74-69 UC Davis victory
Connor Sevilla hit six straight free throws in the final 28 seconds to stifle a Cal State Fullerton rally as UC Davis emerged with a critical 74-69 Big West men’s basketball win before a crowd of 1,133 Thursday night at the University Credit Union Center.
The win moves the Aggies to 10-7 overall and evens their league record at 3-3. Fullerton is now 8-11 and 3-4.
The top eight teams in the final conference standings qualify for the Big West tournament in Henderson, Nevada, with the winner there moving on to the NCAA’s Big Dance.
The Big West has 11 teams, thus three schools will fail to make the tournament.
