Southern Utah's explosive offense will challenge Aggie defense in UC Davis home football opener tonight

SUU's offense is formidable, but the Thunderbirds have early-season questions on defense

The good news for Southern Utah's football team is that the offense ran wild last weekend and scored 49 points against Northern Arizona.

The bad news is that Southern Utah's defense failed to show up and NAU escaped with a last-second 52-49 win.

Southern Utah, once a power in the Big Sky Conference, will rejoin the Big Sky in 2026, but for now, Saturday evening's game against UC Davis will still be a non-conference affair.

Kickoff in the Aggie home opener is set for 7 p.m. at UC Davis Health Stadium.

The game will be telecast live on ESPN+ and Channel 58 out of Sacramento. Radio coverage will be provided by Sactown Radio (1140 AM).
