I always find it interesting on local ballot measures to see headlines like “CITY ATTORNEY’S IMPARTIAL ANALYSIS OF MEASURE V,” in boldface type.

Makes me wish our dear president had an impartial attorney or two on his staff to help him sort fact from fiction.

I’m not sure if there’s a legal definition of the word “impartial,” but as long as a human being is in charge, some bias might raise its ugly head in his or her analysis.

I suspect the day is coming when AI will be called upon to be impartial because it doesn’t have a brain.

Then again, will AI be able to navigate all the nuances of “impartial” in a town as intelligent as Davis?
