UC Davis dominates the second half and coasts to a non-conference men's basketball win over Louisiana
Five Aggies hit for double figures in convincing 77-56 rout of the Ragin' Cajuns
UC Davis jumped out to a 15-0 lead and never trailed to take a 77-56 non-conference men’s basketball win from Louisiana Monday night at the University Credit Union Center.
The win gives the Aggies 5-2 mark as they look forward to their Big West Conference opener Dec. 4 at Hawaii.
The Ragin’ Cajuns out of Lafayette are now 1-6 after having been swept in a three-game tour of Northern California. Louisiana previously lost 93-66 at Stanford and 80-43 at Santa Clara.
Despite the massive early deficit, the visitors did not go quietly into the night, cutting the lead to one point on four occasions, but never being able to go ahead or pull even.
“Sometimes when you get a big lead like that you relax, but I was really happy with our execution when they got close,” said Aggie head coach Jim Les.
“Right from the start we set the tone with our physicality and energy and some really good offense.”
