Voting may be optional, but you have few excuses in Yolo County for not doing so
You can gas up, grab a six-pack, chomp on a Slim Jim and vote all at the same time at Guy’s Corner in Madison
After my column the other day that, among other things, included the names of many of the 61 candidates running for governor of California, one astute reader commented that the whole process seems designed to discourage voting.
I will admit that a 44-page Yolo County Voter Information Guide might seem excessive, but it should be noted that no one is required to read even one word of it before voting.
Six pages of the Guide, for heaven’s sake, are taken up just listing all the candidates for the very offices up for grabs, which is what happens when so many souls ache to be the governor of our beloved Golden State.
