The Wary One

The Wary One

Who is paying for all those Eric Jones mailers?

And by the way, where in this vast 4th Congressional District does he live?

I don’t know about you, but I’ve received so many overweight glossy mailers from Congressional candidate Eric Jones that I’m afraid the next time the mail comes I’ll find Eric himself in my mailbox.

I had never heard of Eric Jones before this uninvited barrage.

But now, on a daily basis, Eric’s message comes across ad nauseam.

“Democrat Eric Jones Doesn’t Work for PACs and Corporate Interests,” he says repeatedly, as if money is the mother’s milk of politics and his rival owns all the cows.

“Eric Jones is unbought, uncorrupted and won’t back down.”

Maybe so, but unless Eric has a Steyeresque stash of cash lying around, some outside force is backing him with suitcases full of money.

I don’t care if your support is from a super PAC or Superman. Money is money. Tell us where the gold is coming from and what the folks who are supporting you are expecting in return.

In one four-page, full-color brochure so heavy that it had my poor mailman’s back sagging, I am told that “Eric is raising his family in our community,” without telling us exactly what community that is.
